ROZ MACLAREN
BOOK: Venom and Blaze
AUTHOR: Roz MacLaren
GENRE: Fantasy
BLURB: “During a time when unicorns roamed free and dragons cast shadows across the sun, the wise men and women of the land told stories of a troubled future. The legends whispered of a time when every baby born would be blonde, genial and entirely Good. But straight after it would emerge a baby with black hair, dark eyes – and an entirely different nature. They would be called Mirrors, and nobody would know from whence they came or what to do with them once they arrived.” Venom wants a normal life where no one can tell her what to do, especially her father, King Viper.
Blaze wants to be free, after all, he has been imprisoned in a dungeon since he was a baby.
Thorn wants to get the girl, which is a shame, because the girl has other things on her mind. At least one of them is going to be disappointed.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Roz MacLaren is a Scottish YA author who lives in the Inner Hebrides with her black and white cat. Roz wrote her first novel at the age of six. It was terrible and fortunately has never seen the light of day. However, Roz went on to become a professional writer at the age of seventeen and even received a BA (Hons) in Creative Writing. She is always writing at least one novel at any given time – and sometimes she actually finishes them. Roz has an extensive collection of novels, only rivalled by her equally extensive collection of impractical shoes. When not writing, she can be found reading, running or napping. You can keep up with all this excitement by following her on social media.

After her brother Griffin's accidental drowning sixteen years ago, her mother retreated from the world with Quinn in tow. Water, strangers, heartache, and the unknown become possible threats to their small, safe life, so she created an insulated bubble where nothing could harm them. But now, Quinn isn't sure where her own insecurities and fears begin and where her mother's end.
When an opportunity arises for Quinn to spend her senior year abroad at an English boarding school, her mother demands she turn it down and threatens to disown her if she goes. Quinn's first act of rebellion opens the door to what her life could be if she is brave enough to live it.
As her world expands in England with new friends and a chance at love, Quinn wonders how she can ever go back to her previous life, even if it means letting her mother go.
