Welcome, Zoe, to Books By My Friends. Thanks for stopping by to tell us about your cozy romance novel. Let’s begin!
JH: What’s the blurb Kilts and Catnip? (Such a cute title!)
ZT: When Becca Shaw and her daughters visit a Scottish island, they didn’t plan to provoke fairies. But a mysterious stranger says they did and demands that they leave. Becca doesn’t know what kind of women this man’s used to, but nobody tells her what to do, even if evil fae are wreaking havoc and ruining their vacation. Kilts and Catnip is a sweet, urban fantasy with romance and adventure.
This cozy romance is rated G.
JH: What inspired you to write Kilts and Catnip?
ZT: After living in beautiful Scotland for years, I knew I had to set the story there. Then I thought, why not a whole series? I enjoy fairy tales to this day and wanted to use as much Scottish folklore in my tales as possible and decided writing about an older woman’s experiences with romance, motherhood, and a new home overseas would be interesting.
JH: What one thing do you love most about writing?
ZT: Even before I could read and write, I told stories to my sister and cousins. I love creating new worlds to populate with characters, then complicate the poor dears’ lives.
JH: What’s next for you in the way of writing/publishing?
ZT: Like many, the coronavirus set my plans awry, but I’m happy to say that Bagpipes and Basil, Book 2 of The Shrouded Isle series, will be published this year. I’ve completed Book 3, Tartan and Thyme, which will come out shortly after. I’m an avid mystery reader and am editing the first book in a cozy mystery series. Between books, I’ve challenged myself to write and submit at least one short story a month.
JH: How can readers contact you?
