Welcome, Anita, to Books By My Friends! Congratulations on your new memoir. It sounds absolutely fascinating. Let’s begin.
JH: What’s the blurb for your book?
AG: Teenage honky-tonk singer marries a handsome country preacher. It's Saturday night versus Sunday morning, faith versus ambition with two little harmony-singing children fighting against the touring life.
JH: What inspired you to write The Glory Road: A Gospel Life?
AG: To help secure my parents' place in the history of American roots music and share details from a way of life that no longer exists.
JH: What one thing do you love most about writing?
AG: Getting to put down scenes in whole, not just a fragment, but a full picture with sound and visuals, all done in words on a page.
JH: What’s next for you in the way of writing/publishing?
AG: I'm working on another book which exists within the same universe as The Glory Road but follows even more characters into the 60s and 70s in the continuing Southern Migration to Southern California
JH: How can readers contact you?
