Welcome to Books By My Friends, Diane! It’s great to have you as our guest today with news to share about your book. It’s been newly released as an audiobook! Listen up, everyone!
JH: What’s the blurb for the book and timeless classic The Tao of Inner Peace?
DD: The Tao of Inner Peace brings the timeless wisdom of the Tao Te Ching to today’s challenging world. Showing us how to apply the principles of natural growth, dynamic balance, and the wisdom of living systems, it can help us create greater peace within and around us.
JH: What inspired you to write The Tao of Inner Peace?
DD: I’ve been drawn to the wisdom of the East since I was ten years old, when my Air Force father was stationed in the Philippines. The Eastern vision of dynamic growth and the balance of yin and yang showed me what was missing in the Western world I’d known. The Tao Te Ching was composed over 25 centuries ago during the warring states period in ancient China when Lao Tzu found renewed hope by connecting with nature. He discovered vital lessons in the cycle of the changing seasons, in the sparkling water of a mountain stream that is nurturing yet with perseverance can cut through solid rock, and the strength of bamboo that bends in the wind and does not break. In our challenging world today, I’m convinced that the Tao’s natural principles can help us create greater peace within and around us.
JH: What one thing do you love most about writing?
DD: I love the process of growth and discovery in writing. In the entire process of conceptualizing, researching, drafting, and editing, writing leads me to follow new inspirations, discover new insights, seek greater clarity, then reach out to share these discoveries with others.
JH: What’s next for you in the way of writing/publishing?
DD: I am currently writing a Tao of Inner Peace Workbook—linking timeless Tao principles with practical exercises based on the latest research in psychology and neuroscience to help people create greater peace in their lives.
