Welcome to Books By My Friends, Jackie! Let’s crush it for your new book Harvest Dreams. Tell us all about it!
JH: What’s the blurb for your book?
JFZ: Harvest Dreams is the story of two young lesbians in the early 80's whose passion to turn on old potato farm on Long Island into a vineyard forces them to work out their attraction to each other while they deal with both the vagaries of nature and their own families who adamantly oppose the venture and their relationship.
JH: What inspired you to write Harvest Dreams?
JFZ: Traveling in France I was always mesmerized by vineyards. And then I got to work on one on Cape Cod for seven years. Loved every aspect of it. I knew there had to be a story there.
JH: What one thing do you love most about writing?
JFZ: Those sweet moments when you finish writing a chapter (or even a section) and you think, ah, this is good. I savor those moments because I know things change when I start editing.
JH: What’s next for you in the way of writing/publishing?
JFZ: I am concentrating right now on my website and hopefully doing lots of book parties and interviews.
JH: How can readers contact you?
