BOOK: The “W” Word
AUTHOR: Jo Horne
GENRE: Memoir
BLURB: In The “W” Word: One Woman’s Journey TO & THROUGH Widowhood, author Jo Horne shares her intimate journey of love, loss, and self-discovery. When her husband of 40+ years passes away after a long illness, she finds herself navigating the unfamiliar territory of widowhood. From the bittersweet passage of her husband's last six months to the small victories of her first two years alone, she shares the ups and downs of her journey with unflinching honesty. With grace, humor, and unrelenting candor, The “W” Word is a heart-wrenching and ultimately uplifting tribute to the power of love and the human spirit. It is a compelling reminder that even in the face of unimaginable loss, we can find the strength to move forward and find joy once again.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: I have been writing most of my life and my 'day' jobs have all contributed to the creative process: marketing and communications for two international corporations; teaching at the college level; and running a Mom-and-Pop adult daycare business with my husband. During those years I also published four books on eldercare as well as co-writing PARKINSON'S DISEASE FOR DUMMIES. Now retired and focused ONLY on writing, I split my time between Wisconsin and Florida. Having been raised in the hills of Appalachia in a town that is often not even a dot on the map, I went from being that small town country kid to being a big city adult - loving the noise and chaos and diversity of city life. But that small town girl is alive and well and has a tendency to show up in one character or another in my stories.
BOOK: Music Master
AUTHOR: Barbara Jean Miller
GENRE: Regency Action Adventure Romance
BLURB: Leighton Stone, Earl of Longbridge, is used to danger. His years as a code breaker in Wellington's army have been filled with it. All he wants, at the end of the Peninsular War, is to return to his estate and marry his childhood sweetheart, Maddie Westlake. Maddie, not a typical parson's daughter, is tired of outwitting her parsimonious father to take care of Leighton's tenants and tired of being taken for granted. When her father sends her away, Leighton tracks her to Bath and discovers he must woo Maddie to win her love. Conniving relatives try to keep them apart, but music and memories pull this pair together as they are drawn into a bizarre spy plot only Maddie can solve.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Barbara Jean Miller has finally retired from teaching at Seton Hill University to devote herself to writing when she is not taking care of her pets or helping her husband repair their ancient house.
