Welcome back to BOOKS BY MY FRIENDS, Don. I know from reading your work that you’re a master at short fiction. Let’s do a brief chat about your newest book Musings: 75 Short Stories.

JH: What’s the blurb for your book?

DT: Presenting 75 new short stories based on the author’s reflections, his musings, on real-life happenings. They show what pausing to reflect can reveal and invite a closer look at the passing parade of events through our daily lives.

JH: What inspired you to write this book?

DT: Ideas for most of my stories come from real-life events.  When I reflect on these events, themes emerge.  Ordinary occurrences take on deeper meaning. The 75 new stories in this collection come from my own musings about happenings in the world and in my life.

JH: What one thing do you love most about writing?

DT: I love sharing my stories with others. Writing connects us.

JH: What’s next for you in the way of writing/publishing?

DT: My first novella, The Liberation of Jacob Novak, will be published by Running Wild Press in early 2024.

After a long career in the corporate world, Don Tassone has returned to his creative writing roots. He is the author of two novels and seven short story collections. He lives in Loveland, Ohio.
