If youthful protagonists struggling with major life issues and making crucial discoveries along the way sounds right for a YA book, then my book Water to Water qualifies. It can be seen as either SF or fantasy, since it takes place on a planet whose inhabitants have never heard of humans (and don't encounter any in the story).

Teaser: two young Vushla questioned what everyone knew about death. What should they do with the answer? https://www.amazon.com/Water-Karen-Wyle-ebook/dp/B07HM67TSW/
