My ideas are not ever meant as a substitute for consulting with a qualified health professional.
I happily own the fact that I’m a believer in intuition, coincidence, and things happening for a reason. If for no other reason than I’ve experienced it so often in my life. The right person, the right solution, the right idea regularly pops up just when I need it the most.
Not to go too overboard with the new-agey stuff, but there really is “big magic” as Eat, Pray, Love author Elizabeth Gilbert aptly named her book about inspiration and creativity. Ideas are literally floating around us all of the time, and if you’ve ever read a book, article, or watched a movie and said to yourself, “I could do that,” that means that one of those big magical ideas is trying to latch onto you. Trying to get you to believe in yourself and write that book, article, or script. It’s never too late to do it either.
The secret to believing in the big magic is seeing its connection to everything. It doesn’t have to be a monumental relation, but if you’ll step back and observe, I guarantee you will see some kind of relationship involved in the moment; in the voice in your head saying, “Why, yes. Yes you can write your story.” Be it nonfiction, fiction, memoir, or journal, it’s never too late to write your story.
Listen. Believe. Connect. I won’t go so far as to say that it will automatically be a best seller, but I will swear that you’ll feel better about connecting to the big magic and accepting the assignment to write your story regardless of what time has to say about it. It’s never too late to write your story.

I believe you, Joy! Writing has helped me figure myself out, and I've reached a place where my characters are teaching me things, and I feel like I am contributing something important by writing them.
I have days where everything seems to go right or I perceive it that way. I call it being in flow with nature. Nothing upsets me, even a mess. This is probably just how i approach the day, not nature, traffic and appliances giving me a break. It's important to approach writing thinking I am in flow. Nothing can go wrong that I cannot fix..
