I use them for plotting my books— use a bulletin board, pus( pins and line them up. As I complete a section, I take that card down. Great way to organize book contents.
Hi A.J. I love this! I have an image in my mind of all these index cards lined up on the bulletin board in order of the chapters. Correct? You should Substack about this and show us a picture beside the finished project:)
Hi Diana! Thanks for starting off the comments:) I absolutely agree that index cards are useful to organize the index for a book. Did you put one entry per card or more than one entry on a card?
One entry but I tried to keep track of the subentries on the same card. You do have to doublecheck things and sometimes I rewrote the card to keep things clear. And I used 4x6 cards.

I used index cards whenever I had to do an index for my nonfiction books. Much handier I thought than using the computer.
